Burmese Bowl

Burmese Bowl, 1890s. This silver bowl is one of a set of three bowls acquired by the 2nd Battalion DLI whilst on garrison duty in Burma in the late 1890s. 2 DLI was stationed at Mandalay from 1898 to 1900. In January 1900, men from of the battalion formed a Company of the Burma Mounted Infantry and went to fight in South Africa. Acc No: 470
