Durham City, Princess Alexandra inspects troops
Princess Alexandra, Deputy Colonel-in-Chief of The Light Infantry, inspecting companies of the 7th Battalion (Volunteers) from Bishop Auckland, Horden, Hebburn, Spennymoor and Houghton-le-spring, at Palace Green. The battalion was formed in 1975 from the 4th Battalion of the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, the 4th and 8th battalions of the Durham Light Infantry and the 463rd (7DLI) Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment (TA).
