Martini-Henry Rifle, Model 1896. This rifle was made by 'Westley Richards' of Birmingham for the 'ZAR' (Zuid Afrikaansche Republiek = South African Republic or Transvaal). This single shot rifle has a calibre of .45". These rifles, though obsolete, were widely used by Boers during the fighting in South Africa Acc No: 757
