Full Dress, 6 DLI
Officer's Full Dress Uniform, 6th Battalion DLI, 1908-1914. The jacket is rifle (dark) green with scarlet facings (collar and cuffs). The busby is made from wool with a red plume. The black leather cross belt has a plate (badge), whistle and chain all in silver. This uniform was worn by a Lieutenant Colonel and is the same as that worn at the time by officers of the King's Royal Rifle Corps. Only the badges distinguish it as belonging to the 6th Battalion DLI. 6 DLI was a Territorial battalion formed in 1908 with Headquarters at Bishop Auckland.
