Harperley, German prisoner of war, Hans Buse
Hans Buse, German POW from Sudetenland, son of a blacksmith and reluctant recruit to the Hitler Youth. A prisoner at Harperley he became friends with Joe Pinkney of Tow Law and often visited his home. Repatriated in 1948, he remained in touch with Mr Pinkney.
