Mace Head, Durham Militia, about 1853. This is the damaged head of a Drum Major's Mace. This mace was carried by the Drum Major, who was the Sergeant in charge of the Regiment's drummers. The Durham Militia had its Headquarters in Barnard Castle. Acc No: 390
