Proclamation of the Accession of King Edward VIII at the Town Hall, at noon on the 23 January 1936. Proclamation read by the Town Clerk, H Hopkins, accompanied by the Mayor, T E Hudson. The girls in hats forming most of the crowd are from Darlington High School.
