Raphael Tuck 'Glosso' series postcard. Text on reverse reads "Southend Avenue, at one time a portion of the Southend Park of the late Joseph Pease was purchased in 1901 at a cost of ?5,000 and added to the Grange road. It contains many fine and varied trees and in the spring is brilliant with crocus, rhododendron etc etc, and has become a favourite promenade of the townspeople."
