Darlington, Tubwell Row, Old Town Hall and tram
From a copy of an original photograph, showing the (original) Old Town Hall at the Junction of Tubwell Row and Prebend Row. This Town Hall, also known as the Town House, was built in 1808 and replaced by the Town Hall in Horsemarket in 1963. The fountain was moved to Green Park and more recently to the garden of Pease House on Houndgate. On the left can just be seen the horse tramway which opened in 1863 (the second in the country) with one line to North Road Station.
