Polo Vest , 1 DLI

Polo Vest, 1st Battalion DLI. This vest was worn by Colonel Frank Simpson, who was a keen Regimental polo player before and after the Second World War. The short-sleeved vest was once dark green (now faded) with a diagonal red stripe and badge bearing the number '68'. Officers of the 1st Battalion DLI often called their battalion the '68th' in memory of the old 68th Light Infantry. Acc No: 577/1
