Polo Helmet, 1 DLI

Polo Helmet, 1st Battalion DLI. This helmet was worn by Colonel Frank Simpson, who was a keen Regimental polo player before and after the Second World War. The helmet is made of cork and has been white-washed. The cloth band or pugri around the helmet is in the DLI's Regimental colours of dark green with a red stripe. Acc No: 577/2
