Statuette of John Lambton, 68th Regiment. This silver statuette is based on a portrait of Major General John Lambton, who raised the 68th Regiment in 1758 and was the Regiment's first Colonel. The original statuette was presented to the Regiment when the 1st Battalion DLI was granted the Freedom of Hartlepool in May 1958. When this statuette was stolen in 1984, the Borough of Hartlepool generously replaced it. John Lambton was Mayor of Hartlepool in 1762. Acc No: 1565
