Snuff Box, 68 Light Infantry

Snuff Box, 68th Light Infantry, 1850. This inscribed silver snuff box was made in Birmingham in 1847. It was presented to Sergeant Joseph Rhymer at Limerick in May 1850 by the Sergeants of the 68th Light Infantry 'as a token of their high esteem'. In 1935 it was presented to the 1st Battalion DLI's Sergeants' Mess by Joseph Rhymer's daughter in law. Acc No: 1625
