Bugler's Full Dress Uniform, The Durham Light Infantry, 1908-1914. The tunic (jacket) is scarlet with dark green facings (collar and cuffs). The collar and shoulder badges and buttons are in brass. The cap is made of dark green cloth with a black leather peak and white metal cap badge. The trousers are black with a narrow scarlet welt (stripe) down the outside seam. The silver bugle hangs from green bugle cords. Bugles played a key role in the history of The Durham Light Infantry from its very beginning, not only by providing communication in battle but also by providing the symbol of the Regiment.
