Durham City, Gilesgate, Durham Militia, Officers

2nd North Durham Militia was raised in Durham City in 1853. Officers' group in undress uniforms outside main door of Militia Barracks, Gilesgate, about 1875. E Leadbitter-Smith (later Lieutenant Colonel) seated left.
