Barnard Castle, Castle, inner bailey

Castle and keep from the inner bailey. The ruins of the motte and bailey, in moderately good condition, date from the 12th to the 16th century. This view by Valentine & Co taken about 1901 (?) shows a tennis court in the inner bailey.
