Rookhope, miners shops
Miners shops or lodging houses at Rookhope, for Boltsburn lead miners, being built by Cameron, builder from St John's Chapel. The old shop on the right was known as the "Wardlers" because men from Weardale lodged there. These buildings are at the west end of Rookhope village opposite the (1995) garden centre, and are still used as houses.
