Darlington, Carmel Road North, The Mount

One of the large houses that occupied both sides of Carmel Road North, north of Milbank Road, The Mount was on the east side, approximately on the site of Highbury Road. It housed a Ladies College from 1830, and continued as a boarding school until 1914, being demolished in the 1920s.
