Durham Cathedral, bellringers

The bells ring out again in September 1980 after being silenced for almost a year during which eight were lowered and taken to Whitechapel Foundry, London for retiring. Two new bells were cast by the foundry to give a 10 bell peal. Durham Advertiser photograph.
